Nicholas Stelter
Nicholas Stelter began working with glas sin 200, collaborating with the nationally acclaimed glass artist Scott Amrhein. Having grown up with a woodworker and a ceramist for parents, Stelter’s passion for art developed at an early age. In addition to stained glass restorations and kiln formed glass, Stelter has also explored working with stone and concrete casting throughout his career.
In his most recent works, he sculpts glass within the kiln, always pushing and exploring the glass and letting it show me it’s true form. Following that, the glass is cold worked and polished to create the soothing shapes and organic lines that are indicative of his work. He then designs and fabricates complementary pedestals out of a variety of materials to accompany each piece.
