The Tortoise Shell Series is a combination of classical forms and elegant color resulting in a contemporary work of functional art that fits in a wide variety of decor styles.

Michael Cohn and Molly Stone have divided their time between collaborative studio work and individual artistic endeavors in their San Fransisco Bay area studio since they formed their partnership in 1980. Michael's glass education includes time spent at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State, Long Beach City College in California and UCLA Berkely where he received his BFA in 1971. He also taught at Pilchuck, San Francisco State University and California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. Molly's education began in 1971 at Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio, and was followed up at the University of California - Berkley, the Pilchuck Glass School, California College of Arts and Crafts and Orrefors Glaskolan in Orrefors, Sweden. Both Michael and Molly have exhibited their work widely both nationally and internationally and have their work in numerous permanent collections. Their studio work is a perfect example of the sum of two distinctly individual insights. Their work rings true to their ability to combine design directives, complementing one another and creating a compelling and unique body of work that would not otherwise be possible.
