Milon Townsend and his team of stalwarts collaborate to create the series of pieces that his studio has become known for: hanging mermaid ornaments, frog and gecko paperweights in many different colors, colorful scent bottles with whimsical stoppers, and elegant goblets that are functional as well as beautiful. Townsend is constantly developing new pieces, a restless soul who finds creativity and change the only constants in a changing world.

"I was trained as a classical musician, and I bring that expectation of excellence to every piece that I create, whether it is the first I've ever made, or one of many, many similar pieces. Working with hot glass is a performance, requiring the artist to understand and work with the material. It is not an imposition of will as much as it is a partnership between the artist and the glass."

Townsend is an active author and educator, teaching artists how to develope successful careers, and working with younger glass artists to broaden the scope of their technique, experience, and perception.
